KOKSTAD came alive on October 4 as festival goers flocked to the annual Spring Festival 2025 hosted by Helping Hands NCW.

The festival at The Avenue Park brought families together, with local businesses selling and showcasing their products. Artists also performed for the crowd.

The day was marked with celebrations and a gesture of unity from attendees, all in support of the organisation’s ongoing community support projects and programmes. From the first sound check to the final raffle draw, the festival radiated joy, teamwork and compassion.

Organisers said the festival stood out as a shining example of what can be achieved when the Kokstad community comes together to give, serve and celebrate.

“The festival’s success was the result of a massive joint effort. MC4 Security led overall security operations with precision and professionalism supported by GKM law enforcement, SAPS, Harry Gwala Disaster Management and EMRS. They ensured a safe and well-managed environment,” said Helping Hands NCW.

The Helping Hands NCW executive members, general members and volunteers were thanked for their tireless work behind the scenes and on the ground.

Vernon Williams and his dedicated communication and media team also worked passionately to connect every part of the event, keeping information clear and the crowd engaged.

DJ Sanele Langa and MC Mr Zibethe created a lively, energetic atmosphere throughout the day so spirits remained high and music was flowing from start to finish. The catering team led by Goldie Khan and supported by Kokstad Primary School nutritional staff ensured everyone was well-fed and cared for throughout the day.

“At the heart of the day, there was the launch of NCW’s Got Talent Season 2, proudly co-ordinated by Adrian De Kock and his team,” Helping Hands NCW added.

The information desk team led by Mduduzi Sibhidla and his team assisted attendees with professionalism and warmth throughout the event, while the braai corner co-ordinated by Pastor Virginia Fortein and her team served delicious plates and fostered fellowship.

The children’s corner was co-ordinated by Melanie Bell and her team. Children enjoyed go-karts, games and toy giveaways.
