POLICE have launched investigations following a cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery between Underberg and Bulwer in KZN.
On Tuesday, December 2, at 5:30am, a white Isuzu and silver-grey Toyota Cross fired shots towards a Fidelity truck and forced it to stop.
The Fidelity driver with two other security members were threatened at gunpoint and robbed of their firearms.
They were taken to a nearby forest.
While in the forest, they heard an unusual sound next to their truck.
It was reported that the suspects left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Police spokesperson Mosa Hlaki said that the Fidelity vehicle was travelling from Underberg towards Bulwer, loaded with money.
“The victims were left unharmed. They reported the matter at Bulwer SAPS where a case of robbery was opened,” said Hlaki.
Police have asked anyone who might have information to contact the nearest police station or call 0800 10111.
