THOBILE Jacob’s acting career has been delayed since 2018 due to lack of financial support.
The 23-year-old Kokstad-based young talent auditioned to pursue acting in 2018. However, that opportunity could not materialise after he failed to attend the second round of auditions in East London.
The multitalented Jacob reapplied for the very same opportunity in September last year. He auditioned, and on January 4 he was informed about being accepted for the 2026 Acting for Screen and Film Programme.
The opportunity will equip him with technical skills, emotional depth and to work confidently in front of the camera.
To grasp the opportunity, he is required to pay a R25 000 tuition fee before January 24.
“I am appealing to anyone who has the means to help me raise the money to fulfil this opportunity. I don’t want to miss this opportunity for the second time,” he pleaded.
Jacob said his passion for acting was inspired by television dramas like Uzalo, Skeem Saam, Generations and many more.
Apart from acting, he has written poems to inspire and share his life lessons. Additionally, he has recorded two songs since 2023. He also performs along with a local music group called Rymax.
