BULWER Community Service Centre was on Thursday, March 19, active with a community outreach programme that brought essential government services directly to the people.

The initiative formed part of ongoing efforts to ensure that communities, especially those in rural and remote areas, have convenient access to vital public services without the need for people to travel long distances.

A wide range of key stakeholders participated in the outreach programme, including the municipality, IEC, Department of Home Affairs, Department of Social Development, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), SAPS, Community Work Programme (CWP), Department of Agriculture, Department of Health, and the Department of Labour among others.

Residents were afforded an opportunity to access a variety of services such as identity document applications, social grant inquiries, health services, employment-related assistance, agricultural support and community safety information.

The outreach was well received by community members, who expressed appreciation for the government’s commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring that no one was left behind.

The Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Local Municipality reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening partnerships with various departments and stakeholders to continue delivering integrated services that respond to the needs of local communities.
