Committee hits the ground running

SIPHELELE NKETO

THE Regional Executive Committee for the ANC in Alfred Nzo has called for ANC caucuses to desist from making decisions outside of the directives of the ANC.

It further ordered the district municipality caucus to immediately rescind appeals it has made against the orders of the courts on the matter of senior management employment, saying it was draining municipal coffers and compromising service delivery.

The committee conducted a meeting on Monday, August 4, at the Umzimvubu Conference Centre in EmaXesibeni (Mount Ayliff) following the recent regional conference where the Ntabankulu Local Municipality mayor Tsileng Sobuthong won the position of chairperson.

At the meeting, the committee emphasised the centrality of the ANC in caucuses of the ANC across the region.

It said it would embark on an organisational process for the re-establishment of the sub-regions. The meeting also deliberated on the importance of unity in the region and noted with concern global issues affecting South Africa.
