AS a way of keeping young people playing sport in the rural village of Jojo in EmaXesibeni (Mount Ayliff), a soccer and netball tournament will be hosted at Jojo sports ground on March 21.
The first-of-its-kind tourney is being organised by Mazizi FC in partnership with the Laphuma Ilanga Project.
Amazizi FC chairman Mlondolozi Hlopoyiya explained that the tournament aims to take young people off the streets and get them interested in playing sport.
A toss meeting for the tournament is scheduled to be held on March 20 at 2pm at Jojo sports field. Hlopoyiya said that 21 soccer teams and 18 netball teams have so far registered, while the number is anticipated to rise as registration remains open.
