EMAXESIBENI-based photographer Lwando ‘Lah Snap 99’ Di has won the Best Photographer award at the Mount Ayliff Social Media Awards 2025 (MASMA) on July 24.
The final year student at Walter Sisulu University was mostly voted for by social media users from among other entries in the category. His victory was announced on July 24 on social media.
His passion for photography started when he captured images of people during sport events, inspired by sports photographer Mgadlie Snap.
In 2023, his talent for photography was recognised when he worked for himself. He captured images of sports players during games to tell a visual story.
“My dream was always to be part of something that develops and tells a story. I believe my photography will influence my career,” he explained, adding that his ambitions are to capture memorable pictures for sporting events.
