SERVICE delivery was at the centre stage of discussions at a council meeting by Harry Gwala District Municipality on Tuesday, July 29.
The meeting, chaired by municipality speaker Sibongiseni Mdunge, brought together councillors, traditional leaders, senior municipal officials and management to discuss key service delivery matters and to adopt critical resolutions in line with the municipality’s development priorities.
Mayor Zamo Nxumalo highlighted the progress that has been made in infrastructure development, water and sanitation as well as financial management. He reaffirmed the council’s dedication to ensure that communities within the district, particularly those in remote and rural areas, receive basic services.
“Our people deserve reliable water, proper sanitation, and leadership that is accountable,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) presented plans of action for the Harry Gwala district.
