ON February 8, pastors in the Kokstad area gathered at Shayamoya community hall for a prayer session focused on addressing social problems.

Themed ‘One Prayer for 2026’, the event sought to cultivate empathy and encourage action for justice.

As stated by ward councillor Simlindile Njisane, the prayer was organised to address issues such as gender-based violence, alcohol and drug abuse, accidents, crime and the need for peace in schools.

Njisane remarked, “I collaborated with church leaders to amplify their voice in community building.”

The prayer service included participation from pastors of different churches.
