AT the recent Local Government Indaba in Johannesburg, Umzimkhulu Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal was awarded for good governance, sound financial management and accountability.
The event honoured municipalities for excellence in financial management and accountability.
Mayor of the Umzimkhulu Local Municipality Jabu Msiya appreciated municipal employees for their hard work and said that the achievement reflected their dedication and hard work towards developing the Umzimkhulu area.
“The award also shows that our municipality is guided by capable and committed directors. We further appreciate our service providers for their honesty and partnership,” she said, while also thanking municipal councillors for strong leadership and oversight.
