WHILE celebrating their victory in the Eastern Cape Sasol Women’s League, football players for 4800 Ladies FC, now called Sinenkani Ladies FC, have been training hard to prepare for the league playoffs of the Sasol Women’s League scheduled for November 24-29 in Nelspruit.
The Mbizana-based ladies’ soccer club, Sinenkani Ladies FC, won a decider match against Sophakama Ladies FC 2-0 in Mthatha on October 25.
If Sinenkani Ladies FC win in the playoffs, they will earn a spot to play at a national level. Team manager Aphelele ‘Bonita’ Teyi said that the team’s remarkable success was highly praised not only by players but football enthusiasts.
“In the last season, our team underperformed. At the start of the current league season, our players worked very hard to win. Training is ongoing to prepare for the national playoffs,” he said.
After playing in the Eastern Cape Sasol Women’s League in this year’s league season, Sinenkani Ladies FC secured 60 goals in 14 league matches.
