DESPITE her age, Ntlakanipho Ndwandwa (8) of the rural village of Caba in Matatiele has taken a bold step to compete for the big crown in the upcoming Mr and Miss Alfred Nzo beauty pageant.

The Grade 3 learner at Matat Primary School said that she entered the competition to prove that “age is just a number,” and nothing will deter her from achieving her goals.

She has been involved in charity programmes, which is required in the competition. Recently, she donated clothes and food to the needy. She also formed part of networking sessions to share modelling skills with her peers.

Her mother Babalwa Ndwandwa has been mentoring and supporting her and said that Ntlakanipho is a young girl with a special heart for helping people.

The crowning ceremony for Mr and Miss Alfred Nzo will take place in December.
