SIYASANGA Yolani Sityata has been announced as the new chief financial officer (CFO) for the Alfred Nzo District Municipality from July 1. She received a positive welcome this week from municipal leadership as she filled the post that was declared vacant from March last year. Municipal spokesperson Luncedo Walaza said the appointment of Sityata was resolved on May 28 during a council sitting.
Mayor Tsileng Sobuthongo welcomed Sityata and expressed confidence in her ability to strengthen the municipality’s financial management systems, promote sound governance and accountability, and contribute towards ensuring the financial sustainability of the institution.
Sityata worked as CFO in the Johannes Phumani Phungula Local Municipality in Ixopo.
“I am deeply honoured by the confidence that the council has placed in me through this appointment. I look forward to working closely with the executive mayor, council, municipal manager, management, employees and all stakeholders to strengthen the municipality’s financial governance and uphold the principles of accountability and transparency while contributing towards improving service delivery for the people of the Alfred Nzo district,” Sityata concluded.
