A GRUESOME incident in which an infant’s body was dragged by dogs shocked residents in the small township of Mphela, Kokstad, on October 16.

Police were called at around 1pm on that day after the body was found wrapped in a black plastic bag. The bruised body had a missing hand.

SAPS spokesperson Mosa Hlaki said the infant’s body was seen by neighbours. She confirmed a case of arrest against a woman (19) for concealing birth. However, the woman was later released after the case was not enrolled in court.
