UMZIMVUBU Local Municipality in partnership with Alfred Nzo District Municipality planted trees on September 9 in celebration of Arbor Day in KwaBhaca (Mount Frere).

Other activities included clean-ups and environmental education for school learners.

The event also focused on educating learners about the importance of trees and their role in sustaining life.

Environmental experts highlighted the importance of trees, the relationship between climate change and forestry, deforestation and reforestation.

Ten trees were handed over to a local school in KwaBhaca and planted.
