POLICE efforts to combat illegal firearms in the OR Tambo district resulted in the arrest of two suspects in Lusikisiki last Friday, September 5.

They recovered four illegal firearms.

Captain Welile Matyolo said a suspect (66) was found in possession of two homemade shotguns with live shells, and the other suspect (51) was arrested for possession of a shotgun and ammunition.

In Mthatha, the OR Tambo stock theft task team arrested a suspect (30) for possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol with its serial number erased.
