THE community of Queensmercy in Mount Fletcher was delighted to be part of the 5th annual Khumbul’ekhaya football and netball tournament on August 17.
Villager Tshediso Moshoeshoe organised the tournament to bring fun to the people and promote sport.
An impressive 36 football clubs and 26 netball teams played in the tournamewnt, as well as nine ladies soccer clubs that competed for top prizes.
Mountain Brothers FC from the rural village of Mapenyeng took the first spot and won the R7 000 prize. In second place, Liverpool FC took home the R3 000 prize.
In netball, Shining Stars took home R3500 in prize money, with Dynamic Ladies netball team securing second place and winning the R1 500 prize.
Malakzin Ladies FC won R3 500 and Future Stars FC won R1 500.
