Funding support call for SMMEs & cooperatives for the 2025/26 Financial Year

This notice serves as a call for funding applications from existing SMMEs & cooperatives operating in the following sectors:

Funding support is available for labor-intensive businesses with the potential to stimulate job creation and growth in the local economy. The municipality invites applications from businesses operating in the following priority sectors:

Agriculture & Agro-processing, Manufacturing, Retail Services & General Trading, Tourism, Arts & Culture, Forestry & Aquaculture, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Automotive Services & Repairs, Carpentry and Joinery, Mining (Sand & Quarry), Environmental Enterprise Solutions, Small-Scale Manufacturing and Production

1. REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen, 18 years or older.

• Operate an existing business (No start-ups will be considered).

• Business must be based within Ingquza Hill Local Municipality (Lusikisiki, Flagstaff, or surrounding wards).

• Must demonstrate potential for job creation, commercial viability, and BBBEE alignment.

2. MANDATORY DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED:

1. Company / Cooperative Registration Certificate (CK / CIPC Document)

2. Valid SARS Tax Clearance Certificate

3. Bank Confirmation Letter

4. Certified ID Copies of All Applicants (not older than 3 months)

5. Bankable Business Plan

6. Company or Cooperative Profile

7. Latest 3-month Business Bank Statement

8. Proof of Business Address (not older than 3 months)

9. Motivational Letter: Why your business should be funded

10. Letter from Ward Councilor (stamped) confirming business exists in their ward

11. 3 Quotations for required items or equipment (Not exceeding R150,000)

12. Proof of Land Ownership or Lease Agreement

13. Fully Completed SMME and Cooperative Support Application Form

3. IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Only applicants residing and operating within Ingquza Hill LM boundaries will be considered.

• Funding is limited to equipment and tools of trade – no groceries, feed, or perishables will be considered.

• Start-up businesses are not eligible.

• Previously funded businesses through this or other municipal/sector programmes will be disqualified.

• Women, youth, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

NB: NO START-UP BUSINESSES WILL BE CONSIDERED. ONLY EXISTING OPERATIONS WILL BE SUPPORTED.

4. APPLICATION SUBMISSION

Applications must be hand-delivered to:

Ingquza Hill Local Municipality

135 Main Street, Flagstaff AND 66 Main Street, Lusikisiki

5. CLOSING DATE: Friday, 29 August 2025 (Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.)
