ELECTED ANC Alfred Nzo regional chairperson Tsileng Sobuthongo has appealed to members of the party to rebuild the organisation so it can reclaim lost ground and become the leader of society.
She said the newly elected leadership will strive to unite the region. Sobuthongo, the current mayor of Ntabankulu Municipality, emerged victorious during the fifth regional conference in Ntabankulu last weekend.
She defeated Vukile Mhlelembana who contested the position of chairperson.

Sobuthongo’s elected deputy was Makhosandile Mpetshwa. The position of secretary was won by Polelo Mohale, his deputy Zukiswa Ndevu and treasurer Bonakele Duzana.
“As we assume this mandate, we reinforce our unwavering commitment to deepen the gains made by the democratic government. Even though there has been commendable success, what we cannot deny is that the ANC’s support over time has been on a downward spiral. We have witnessed more voting stations in all our sub-regions being closed by the community as a result of complaints which could have been easily resolved,” said Sobuthongo.
