AS the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Matatiele Local Municipality, we would like to give credit to the former mayor, Sonwabile Mngenela, for what the municipality has achieved under his leadership. There are significant strides that we have observed in service delivery. To mention a few: Cedarville internal streets, Maluti internal streets, Motsekoa electrification, the Ward 13 roads and bridge, the Ward 3 road and Malubalube. We also want to give credit to the water infrastructure section for what was done in Ward 22, Ward 24, Ward 27, Ward 13, Ward 15 and Ward 7.
As the DA we can fully agree that Matatiele is a development area.
Apart from recognising the work that has been done, we would like to call on the authorities to fast track the rehabilitation of Harry Gwala internal streets in Ward 20.
The DA is happy that the Harry Gwala Stadium is at a 98% completion state.
