REMINDER TO ALL RESIDENTS: REFUSE AND GARDEN WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULE

Greater Kokstad Municipality kindly reminds all residents to take note of the weekly refuse removal schedule in their respective areas.

Residents are further advised that garden refuse must be placed outside on the same day as your household refuse collection to ensure efficient and timely collection. Please ensure that all refuse and garden waste is placed outside by 07:30 am on your scheduled collection day, especially during public holidays when collection teams may complete routes earlier than usual.

Areas that collection is done on Mondays include Bhongweni (from Mphela Road), Ezibeleni, Jim Payne Street, Strachan, Wylde, Brownley, Elliot, Barclay Street, Williams Place, Private Hospital area, Hope Street and Main Street.

Every Tuesdays, our teams collect the other side of Bhongweni (from Thembalethu School), Tin Town area, Thafeni, Murray Booysen Avenue, South End Railway Street, Sparrow Road, Groom Street, Garages, Hope Street and Main Street. Wednesday we collect at Horseshoe, Twist Valley, Hope Street and Main Street.

On Thursday we collect at Swartberg, Franklin, Singisi, Mamiesa, Extension 7, Garages, Hope Street and Main Street. On Fridays our teams collect at Shayamoya, Main Street and Hope Street.

Saturday’s collections include Bus Station, Dower Street, St Johns Street, Dumisani Makhaya, Elliot Street, Haggan Place, Truck Stop, Hope Street, Main Street and Hawthorne Street. We close off the week with collections on Sunday Main and Hope Streets.

Business skip bins are serviced on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and additionally whenever they reach capacity. Keeping our Kokstad clean is a shared responsibility.

Every piece of litter you properly dispose of, and every report of illegal dumping helps us create a healthier, safer, and more beautiful community for all. We therefore encourage all residents to: dispose of waste responsibly, keep streets and public spaces litter-free, place refuse out on time and maintain clean homes, yards and neighbourhoods.

Together, we can preserve the beauty, dignity and environmental excellence of Greater Kokstad.
