FOOTBALL players of the Diski Pros Academy, also known as Abantwana Bestayela, will soon return to the playing field for the opening of the KwaZulu-Natal Sasol Provincial League matches.

The female football league season was closed last year with Diski Pros Academy finishing with 19 points after playing 10 games.

Diski Pros Academy won six games, lost three and drew one match. In Stream C of the league, Diski Pros Academy finished in second place.

To prepare for this year’s league season, Lindo Xaba, the Diski Pros Academy coach, said that the female soccer club has recruited a number of new players to strengthen the squad.

“The club has 22 players and our target is 30 players that will carry the team to league finals. Recruitments for new players are still open,” he said.

He stated that the club works with local schools in Kokstad to prepare female footballers to achieve a higher standard of the game.
