POLITICAL parties and independent candidates that will be contesting in the upcoming local government elections in the Matatiele Local Municipality have signed ballot specimens during the code of conduct signing ceremony held by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

The ceremony at the Maggie Tsiu-Resha Building in Matatiele recently was attended by party representatives and individuals who will contest as independent candidates on November 4. IEC manager in the Alfred Nzo district Arnold Mbaligontsi led the session and further announced the 14 political parties and four independent candidates that will contest.

Parties assured their commitment to free and fair elections.
