THE Umuziwabantu Local Municipality council presented the 2024/25 audit report outcome in a council sitting on February 27.
It received an unqualified audit outcome.
The municipality said that the outcome marks a clear improvement from the previous audit result. It said the Auditor General commended the municipality for strengthened financial management, improved internal controls and significant progress in addressing prior audit findings.
“We warmly welcome the Unqualified Audit Outcome presented by the Auditor General. This achievement reflects the collective commitment of council, management and staff to sound financial governance and accountability,” Mayor Siboniso Zungu said while welcoming the report. The municipality viewed the achievement as a strong signal to residents, investors and oversight bodies that the municipality is firmly on a path of responsible governance, financial discipline and sustainable development.
