THE search for the Mthatha-based missing police officer Hlalanathi Gwebityala (23) was called off last Saturday, August 9, after he was found in a house near Mthatha.
He was last seen on June 2 at around 6pm.
A call for assistance regarding the whereabouts of the police officer, attached to Mthatha Public Order Policing, was intensified last Friday. The following day, police announced that he was found alive.
“Gwebityala was traced and located next to a house at the Jojweni locality in Mthatha. He was later referred to the Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) programme for psycho-social intervention,” Captain Welile Matyolo said.
