NOLUVO MGIJIMA

A CALL to end gender-based violence (GBV) in the area of Matatiele was made at a one-day gathering of men last Saturday, October 18.

The third annual empowerment programme for men organised by Men 2 Men, an NPO focused on reviving the male conscience on matters related to GBV, moral regeneration and responsible fatherhood.

The programme called for the end of violence against women and children. Men 2 Men chairperson Mluleki Xantibe said the programme was also established to mobilise men to engage about problems facing them. He said most men are emotionally wounded, and that has resulted in a number of men being referred to seek professional help.

The programme was attended by Siyabulela Jentile from the Not In My Name movement and television actor Muzi Mthabela who urged men to revive their moral consciousness, pray and take action.
