USIPHILE Gcali Sambane (17) of the KwaLunda village in Matatiele has brought home two wins at the crown ceremony for Miss Summer Eastern Cape on December 6 in East London. She won Miss Summer Eastern Cape 1st Runner-Up and Miss Summer Eastern Cape Personality. The Tholang Senior Secondary School pupil said that modelling is more than beauty.
“Participating in Miss Summer Eastern Cape helped me gain confidence and experience in public speaking,” she said, adding that she will use her influence to encourage people to play sport by taking care of their bodies and for healthy living. She has been modelling since 2016 and has won several crowns.
