AFTER running the Comrades Marathon for the first time in 2025, Zoe Mbiko has set her new target this year.
She aims to complete this year’s Comrades Marathon within a nine-hour finish time.
The Ntabankulu Senior Secondary School teacher joined the EmaXesibeni-based running club called XJ Athletics Club in 2024.
In 2025 she ran the Comrades Marathon and completed it at a finish time of 10:1. She recently participated in the 42km Capital City Marathon in Pietermaritzburg and finished at 3:20.
“I can’t wait to participate in this year’s Comrades Marathon and I will keep my pace,” she said. She thanked her family for their support and constant checks on her during early morning runs.
She mentioned that her running activities had an inspirational impact on many individuals, including her sister Khanya as well as other teachers who vowed to join the running gang.
