THE African National Congress (ANC) in the Kokstad sub-region has called for its members to paint the Kokstad area in black, green and gold on Fridays.

The party’s programme called Yellow Friday was launched in Shayamoya Township last Friday, January 23.

According to Zolani Siqwayi, the ANC sub-regional secretary, the programme forms part of reviving the party’s machinery and ground forces to maintain high visibility in their communities.

“The launch served as a platform to formally outline the programme of action and discuss the status of ANC branches and foot soldiers,” he said, adding that party members will engage in community programmes on Fridays, while wearing ANC T-shirts.

Siqwayi said these activities form part of preparations for the upcoming local government elections.
