ANC hosts volunteer assembly

ANDILE MOSHOESHOE

A HUGE turnout from the African National Congress (ANC) in Shayamoya, Kokstad, was witnessed with scores of supporters filling the marquee while bracing the cold weather last Saturday, May 9.

The gathering formed part of the ANC’s broader programme aimed to revitalise grassroots structures, restore organisational discipline and reinforce unity among members.

ANC leaders at the event repeatedly emphasised the importance of collective leadership and internal cohesion as the party prepares for local government elections.

They expressed confidence in the support received, saying that it reflects a renewed organisation with members being determined to play an active role in rebuilding and strengthening the organisation.

The party ambitiously declared a target of no less than 95% electoral-support in the Harry Gwala district during the local government elections scheduled for November 4.
