THIS year’s June 16 in the farming community of Wansbeck outside Kokstad in KZN is set to generate endless fun and special memories when community members participate in a hiking event.
Organised to raise funds for a local school, Wansbeck Primary, the event will include hiking in the rolling hills of the area with a trail walking experience, bird viewing, rock climbing and river crossings as well as mountain trekking.
Organiser Miranda Neo said that other activities for the event will involve clothing and shoe donations.
“The occasion forms part of celebrating Youth Day by getting the community involved in something of importance. Proceeds and donations will be shared with the community as well as the primary school,” she said.
The local primary school is in dire need of support such as sports equipment for the children. For enquiries, please contact 063 260 1832 or 078 496 8070.
