UMZIMVUBU Local Municipality hosted the second leg of its Ratepayers’ Service Day at Sophia Recreational Park in KwaBhaca recently.
The first leg was held in EmaXesibeni last week.
The municipality said that the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability, enhance transparency and improve service delivery to residents.
The initiative brought municipal services closer to communities by creating a dedicated platform for direct engagement between ratepayers and municipal officials.
Revenue officials provided hands-on assistance with a wide range of account-related matters, ensuring that residents received immediate support and clear guidance.
The Ratepayers’ Service Day has created a welcoming and accessible environment for one-on-one consultations, allowing residents to raise concerns, seek clarity and better understand their municipal accounts.
Many participants have benefitted from direct engagement with officials, gaining insights into processes that were previously unclear.
Umzimvubu Local Municipality manager Tobela Nota emphasised that support is not limited to this outreach initiative.
“While the current programme is dedicated to KwaBhaca ratepayers, all residents are encouraged to visit the municipal revenue offices at any time for assistance with account queries, property valuations and payment arrangements,” he said.
