TEMPERS were extremely high for the community of Kokstad after people were unable to buy prepaid electricity for a couple of hours on Sunday.
This was due to the prepaid electricity system going offline.
It left residents and businesses frustrated as they were unable to purchase via banking apps and retailers. Greater Kokstad Municipality spokesperson Zolani Siqwayi confirmed the technical glitch.
“The service provider, contracted by the municipality, complained of a downed system on that day. But the problem was eventually resolved and residents were able to purchase prepaid electricity,” he stated.
