THE Day of Reconciliation public holiday on December 16 in the rural village of Dundee in EmaXesibeni (Mount Ayliff) will be buzzing with sport activities aimed to inspire and bring together the local community.
Event organisers said that the third annual Dundee Veterans Comrades Marathon as well as a netball and soccer tournament has been scheduled. Runners may choose whether to participate in a 13km or 5km run from Mvalweni to the Jojo sports ground.
There are also 22 soccer teams that will be competing for the top prizes and 12 netball teams. Organiser Mlondolozi Hlopoyiya said the inspiration behind the event was to bring people together as the year draws closer to the end.
