 YOUNG girls in the Ntabankulu area showcased their beauty and talents last Saturday, September 6, at the Miss Ntabankulu High Schools pageant held in the Ntabankulu Multi Purpose Centre.

Winner Anesipho Maphakela of Sukude High School won R10 000 prize money and a smart phone. The top four contestants each won R5 000 prize money.

The pageant was meant to celebrate the beauty, talent and empowerment of young high school learners.

It provided contestants with a platform to showcase their talents and build confidence to develop their skills.

Ntabankulu Local Municipality spokesperson Lungisile Mzanywa said the pageant formed part of education and early childhood development programmes that were developed by the municipality.

“Pageant contestants were trained in public speaking leadership and designing,” Mzanywa said.
