UMZIMVUBU Local Municipality mayor Zukiswa Ndevu led the official introduction of contractors appointed to implement electrification projects in two wards on Wednesday, September 3.

The projects will include Phase 2 of the Sogoni electrification project in Ward 17 set to benefit 150 households with a budget of R3.6 million.

 Another project scheduled to benefit the community is the Sixhotyeni Link-Line project in Ward 4 that will connect 117 households with a budget of R4.8 million.

 “As the municipality, we are appreciative of the patience that our communities have displayed since the municipality consulted with them over the electrification plan that is being rolled out in phases,” said Ndevu. The municipality appealed to community members to report illegal connections.
