THE community of Alfred Nzo has honoured the life of Chief Bhekamabandla Phila Mdutyana of Mpoza at a memorial service in EmaXesibeni (Mount Ayliff) on Wednesday, August 20.
At the memorial service organised by the Alfred Nzo District Municipality, Mayor Vukile Mhlelembana said that the chief’s leadership demonstrated what they believed as a municipality.
Chief Mdutyana died on July 31 after a short illness. He was laid to rest on August 8 in KwaBhaca (Mount Frere).
Family member Asanda Mdutyana said the legacy of the chief will forever live on.
Chief Mdutyana will be remembered as someone who truly represented the people of Alfred Nzo.
